| The black and white versions of
these roses was created first. It began as a pencil sketch directly
on my prepared canvas. The plan was to paint over the drawing.
However, the sketch turned out too good to cover up, so I had a special
frame made to protect it under glass. Later, I recreated the exact
design and completed the oil painting as I originally
intended.
